My first attempt at sewing...

My sweet husband got me a sewing machine for my birthday for a couple reasons, I really need a hobby, and because it's always something I have wanted to get more into. I'm so excited, I went today and got some material to make some baby beanies for number 2 coming out here soon and the top picture was my first attempt. I made it way too small so it became Whinnie the Pooh's beanie, Max loved it though, so I guess it wasn't a complete failure.

My second attempt was much better. I saw the tutorial on a blog on how to make these out of sleeves from old shirts. I didn't use a sleeve because I didn't have a long sleeve shirt I wanted to get rid of so I just got some material instead. It's still not 100% finished, I still need to sew the button on. But now I know how to do them and I'm having so much fun figuring this stuff out.
